Generator Repairs, Servicing and Maintenance Across Randburg

Randburg runs from the shops and offices of Ferndale and the CBD, through the warehouses of Strijdom Park and the factories of Kya Sand, to the hillside homes around Northcliff and the townhouse complexes of Northriding and Olivedale. We repair, service and maintain generators across all of it, on site, and each part has its own pair of pages below. This page shows how the hub fits together and which page to read for your suburb.

Three Randburgs in one hub

Randburg was a town in its own right before it became part of the City of Johannesburg, and it still works like one. Its centre, Ferndale and the CBD, is a mix of houses, offices and shops along Bram Fischer Drive and Republic Road; its industry sits in Strijdom Park between the N1 Western Bypass and Malibongwe Drive, with MultiChoice’s headquarters among the corporate addresses; and its suburbs run from the older houses and flats of Blairgowrie and Windsor out to Boskruin and Randpark Ridge.

West of that centre the ground rises to Northcliff Hill, at about 1,807 m the second-highest point in Johannesburg, and the suburbs around it, Northcliff, Fairland, Linden, Greenside and Emmarentia, are hillside homes, restaurant strips and Cresta Shopping Centre. North of it, Northriding, Olivedale, Sundowner and Bloubosrand are mostly townhouse and cluster complexes, with Northgate’s shopping centre and the Dome, Netcare Olivedale Hospital, and the factories and distribution businesses of Kya Sand.

Each of those three parts gets its own pair of pages: a repairs page with the faults we meet most there and how we reach the site, and a service & maintenance page with the intervals load shedding imposes and the plans that suit the local sites. The directory below lists every suburb against its page.

Across Randburg

What Randburg’s generators have in common

The suburbs differ, but five patterns turn up across the hub, and they decide what a technician brings and checks first.

Getting there

On site across Randburg

Malibongwe Drive, the former Hans Strijdom Drive, runs from Randburg to Northgate and on towards Lanseria; Bram Fischer Drive and Republic Road cross the centre; Beyers Naudé Drive climbs through Northcliff and Fairland towards the N1; and the N1 Western Bypass passes Strijdom Park. A technician comes off whichever is moving. Technicians on site in 1–2 hours, 24/7.

When you call, say which part of the hub the set is in and who signs contractors in: a complex gate, a factory yard with a permit system or a householder at home each need a different arrival. A WhatsApp photo of the controller screen and nameplate tells us the make, the rating and the alarm, so the likely parts travel with the technician.

For a set that keeps calling us back, the answer is a maintenance plan: services dated from the hour meter, a monthly run under load, the charger metered and the tank drained between visits, and a report the next managing agent, landlord or insurer can read.

  • Photo of the controller and nameplate sent ahead
  • Transfer tests booked around trading, tenants and complex rules
  • Plans for landlords, body corporates, workshops and homes

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Randburg under the Johannesburg hub or its own?

Its own. Randburg, Northcliff and Northriding have their own hub and pages here, with Johannesburg, Sandton and Roodepoort as neighbouring hubs.

My generator is in Blairgowrie. Which page do I need?

The Randburg generator repairs page for a breakdown and the Randburg service and maintenance page for routine work; Blairgowrie is one of its suburbs. The directory above matches every suburb to its page.

Do you cover the factories in Kya Sand and Strijdom Park?

Yes. Three-phase sets at factories, warehouses and distribution businesses are a large part of the work in Randburg: motor-starting loads, phase balance, drum fuel and yard dust. See the Northriding and Randburg repairs pages and industrial generator services.

Can you repair a generator at a Randburg complex without breaking the noise rules?

Yes. Fault-finding and most of the repair are quiet; only the test run makes noise, and it stays inside the hours the body corporate allows. Tell us the complex’s contractor procedure when you book.

Is the callout free, and do you work on every make?

Free callouts and quotations, and work starts only once you accept the quotation. We Service & Repair All Generator Brands, from petrol portables to the three-phase canopies in Strijdom Park.
